I Only Came In To Get A Work Permit

Interior - Day - Penny & Vince's flat

[Vincent] Vince is moping about his bankruptcy from Gina and his loss Pinner metals to his father since his acquisition of 6 tanks. Penny brings up the

PENNY
"Look Vince tell me the truth - being wiped out in court and the subject of a united nations enquiry - well is that the only reason you are being moody ? Has it got anything to do with that little booking we made at the registry office"

Penny is reassured and starts to tidy up before she leaves for work

VINCE
"Could you leave that Pen I've got to file it"

PENNY
"Its a br() piece of paper"

VINCE
"No Its a list of all my assets"

[Les] Les arrives and is shown into

PENNY
"Vince its your father"

VINCE
"Tell him I'm not in"

There is friction from it and Penny leaves saying she be calling in on her mother on the way home

VINCE
"Fine the garlic cloves are hanging on the hat stand"

Les is in trouble yet Vince is still angry at being ousted out and ignored

LES
"I intend to repair all the damage thats been done in the near future but right now I need your help"

Les tells of his hopes and dreams of the vineyard and how the villagers have held a festival in their honour. They cooked many local dishes

LES
"And Rite did some chicken nuggets and waffles"

Vince smiles and listens to a sad tale. Gina as the new head of the wine import company is refusing to import the wine. Les has borrowed heavily and the whole family will be broke if she doesn't sign the necessary documentation. The reason is Vince's forthcoming wedding - he must call it off.

Interior - Day - Gina flat

[Daphne] Daphne - answering to the name of Dorothy - is told by Gina that Norman wont work for the wine firm if the wedding goes a head as he will be a relative of Gina's ex-husband - Vince's father in law

DAPHNE
"Only in the eyes of the Law - well in spirit we will continue loathing them just as much as we did before"

[Gina] Gina is concerned about leaking information

DAPHNE
"Norman doesn't leak .. a glass of Croft original and a scotch egg and you can put him down for the night - hes loyal very loyal - he makes Lassie look treacherous"

Interior - Day - Warrender's kitchen

Daphne is trying to talk Penny out of marrying Vince for Norman's sake. She leaves to tell him off and he comes scuttling in. In a speech of few words yet epic impact he (without knowing the sword of Damocles if being sharpened) - firstly dismisses marriage as living in sin is OK by him then asks if despite not being invited he can slip in at the back of Penny wedding. He is so joyous that she is happy and he has a job Penny just folds.

Interior - Day - Penny's office - Matthew Styles and Liebereman

[A J] Penny asks A J for permanent post and he offers promotion but for the Paris office. It seems Gina as a client has been flexing her muscles and ousting Penny

ARthUR
"Paris wasn't her first choice .. Wyoming"

A J explains how she is over a barrel and even if she changed firms Gina could chase her through the city.

ARthUR
"What so bad about working in Paris"

PENNY
"He wont be there - there are no betting shops in Paris"

Penny wants to resign to trade a career for marriage

Interior - Night - Flat

Penny is writing her resignation letter and turns down the TV to concentrate. Vince is drinking and watching Startrek (The classic series)

PENNY
"How do you spell oviparous"

VINCE
"P R A T.. what are doing writing your resignation or a prescription"

[Penny] Penny rants on and toys with to calling off the wedding. Vince is watching the TV and ignoring her as he's trying talking to her previously. He reiterates Paris is a good option

VINCE
"Wyoming - at least with Paris we'll be on the same continent and you wont have to worry about rustlers"

Vince makes a throwaway comment about Mr Spock and Penny launches into a tirade about how Vince is looking forward to living in the world Gina has set out for him. She realises that stress and Gina is causing this and is close to giving up. Vince keeps drinking

PENNY
"Vince do something"

VINCE
"like what"

PENNY
"I cant belive you're lying down and taking it. In all the years I've know you there was one thing I thought would never change and that is that you would always be a devious scheming double crossing two faced rat unprincipled rat"

VINCE
"Its no good trying to smooth talk me Penelope"

Vince grabs the bottle and sips some more then Penny cracks she claims Vince is hiding again

PENNY
"You make the decision for me cos I'm very tired"

Penny storms out but Vince halts her with a classic comeback that ties what is basically the series' scene act before the denouement up with how the nod as to how the scene started

VINCE
"O V I P A R O U S"

Now alone Vince faces the emptying bottle

PENNY
"Al right Penelope I'll make the decision for you"

And so the final scenes unfold in a pary scene involving the cast brought together one alst time ... no spoilers here
